L’Escale Marine belongs to Somewhere to Meet, which conceives, develops and operates hotels and residences. The environment and ecological transition are key concerns for Somewhere to Meet, which strives to find green solutions that respect our planet, both during the construction and operating phases of its hotels.
Here are a few concrete examples of this commitment:
For the Ibis hotel of Treillières in the north of Nantes, currently under construction, sorting site waste was a real priority to reduce the construction site’s carbon footprint. It was entrusted to Tri’n’collect, a company that collects, recycles and/or re-uses construction site waste. When the Ibis reopens, its new solar thermal panels will enable the hotel to save up to 6 tonnes of CO2 per year.
At the Kyriad hotel in Bouaye (South of Nantes), the “Hélianthe” system recovers the calories stored by the sun’s rays in the asphalt of the parking lot, to heat water for the swimming pool and the hotel’s showers. The hotel’s roof also boasts a large surface area of electricity-generating photovoltaic panels.

The Originals, Human Hotels & Resorts is the brand label of a group of independent hotel owners who have all chosen and decided to promote a new form of hospitality.
Today, The Originals, Human Hotels & Resorts comprises 600 independent hotels across France and Europe, ranging from luxury to economy. It’s a group of passionate hoteliers, in love with their profession and their region, and keen to promote their independence. Through representatives and hotel clubs, each member can contribute to the management and future of the cooperative movement. 4 core values unite the hoteliers: People, Local, Experiences and Independence.
Spending a night in a hotel of The Originals Relais group means experiencing intimate, authentic luxury. These hotels are true resorts by the sea, in the mountains or in the countryside, with something to live and experience in each one. Although they are primarily intended for tourists, they are also magnificent locations for visiting professionals or for organizing seminars and events.
