GR34’s Hiking trails

One of the best ways to discover the Crozon peninsula is on foot. With its 120 kilometres of coastal paths, this tip of Finistère is a magical place for hiking! From coves to cliffs, the GR34, voted France’s favourite footpath in 2017, is guaranteed to dazzle you at every turn.

GR34

The Coastal Trail, or GR34, takes you on an extraordinary hike. It is well indicated by signposts and it allows you to walk along the entire coastline of the Peninsula. You’ll find breathtaking views of the cliffs and the sea. It’s a challenging walk over steep terrain, but one that offers breathtaking panoramas.

A bit of history

Formerly known as the “Sentier des Douaniers”, the GR34 runs for more than 2,000 kilometres along the coast of Brittany. Originally designed to monitor boat traffic and groundings, it was rehabilitated in the 1960s and opened to the public to allow walkers to enjoy extraordinary panoramic views.

LA POINTE DE LA CHÈVRE

From the Morgat marina, the GR34 route is an accessible and enjoyable walk. From the town centre to the Pointe de la Chèvre, take time to admire the diversity of the landscape: forests, cliffs and creeks with translucent waters will take you to the heart of wild, unspoilt nature.

LA POINTE DE PEN HIR

From Camaret-sur-Mer, take the GR34 towards the Pointe de Pen Hir and its “Tas de Pois”. These rocky islets, known as Pen Glas (Tête Verte), Ar Foc’h (La Fourche) and Bern Id (Tas de Céréales), form the most famous image of the Crozon peninsula.

THE FORTIFICATIONS TRAIL

From the “Pointe des Espagnols”, the GR34 will take you to the remains of past fortifications. Over the ages, man has made the Peninsula a strategic location, building numerous military defence structures: Fort des Espagnoles, Fort Robert, Fort des Capucins, Batterie de Kernivou and many more…
